The Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology (FEBIT) proposes to host its inaugural international conference titled "Innovative Strategies for Building Sustainable Smart Cities: Integrating Technology, Infrastructure, and Resilience." This conference aims to address the pressing global challenge of developing cities that are not only technologically advanced but also sustainable, inclusive, and resilient to future challenges such as climate change, rapid urbanisation, and socio-economic disparities.
By focusing on this theme, the conference seeks to provide a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together leading experts from academia, industry, government, and civil society. It will foster dialogue and showcase innovative solutions for the development of smart cities that prioritise sustainability and resilience. This event underscores FEBIT's commitment to advancing global urban innovation and positioning CUT as a hub for cutting-edge research and real-world problem-solving in smart city development, particularly within the African context.
